To be an original, you need to be genuine. Sincerity should be at the core of who you are anyway, and to be unforgettable, you need to be yourself and become the essence of you. With this starting block in mind, even if you are the quintessential unforgettable one, everyone can benefit from the latest and greatest in the Dale Carnegie hit parade that we are highlighting: Make Yourself Unforgettable. This whole work builds on maxims previously established in How to Win Friends and Influence People, which we featured here in the digital age. This is not a one-size-fits-all lesson; as you listen and learn, you must look at how what you are learning critically applies to your own life which you may improve upon-we all can!

You should be neat and professional in your dress, but it also must represent who you are as an individual. If everyone is wearing grey pinstripe suits, wear one with a fascinator! Wear a different color! Linda McMahon for example is running a commercial right now in her bid for a Connecticut Senate seat where she wears a bright orange blazer in contrast to her opponent in black and white. Take initiative and don't be afraid to fail, because it builds resilience.

Being well-qualified is not enough. What are your unique skills? How did you acquire them? How can you differentiate yourself from the herd? Once upon a time, Peachy worked in Corporate America, and one client in particular was horridly well-versed in the herd mentality, but it was coming from the employees more than the top in this case. They truly behaved like sheep, and each was quite forgettable. We can't remember a single name but we remember the mentality and how we never want to be in it again. Don't be a sheep in a barnyard.

Be perceptive and see what other people don't. It goes without saying that you should think outside the box.
You must also be diplomatic and civil, which is easier said than done in many cases. Behave in a way that makes those around you better. Don't highlight negative points of others in a public manner.

Accept total responsibility and make everything look easy!

Class is key. It is easy to see it, and it is also to see the absence of it. The Kennedy presidential debate in 1960 was used as an example, and we recommend you pay particular attention to this segment. Cool, calm and in control...

We also love the crash story of Cole Porter! Heed this one too.

Be honest, no matter what.

Live a result that surprises. Make the world a better place. Regard problems as opportunities. Be the essence of you. Make Yourself Unforgettable and listen to Dale Carnegie and his people!
