For as long as I can remember, I have loved Lucy. I've read several books about her and seen many of the I Love Lucy and The Lucy Show episodes more than once. When I opened the package and saw this book, I was thrilled to find a book about Lucille Ball I haven't read. Of course, I had to start reading right away. Once I did, I couldn't put this book down. You learn much about her early life to her TV and movie career. Because I know more of her TV work, I was really interested in learning more about some of the movies she appeared in. I've never had the opportunity to watch any of these, but plan to find them now. I also loved reading about her encounters with other Hollywood stars I adore like Betty White and Dean Martin. If you know of anyone who loves Lucy, they need to own this book. I loved it!

Growing up, my favorite shows to watch on television were old reruns of "I Love Lucy." I found it more entertaining than any of the current shows that were on TV. I could even watch the same episode over and over again, and I would still laugh out loud every time. As much as I loved the show, and of course Lucille Ball, I never really knew all that much about her life. Lucille Ball FAQ: Everything Left to Know About America's Favorite Redhead, by James Sheridan and Barry Monush, has changed all that. This book contains everything you could ever want to know about the beloved star and more! Her life is so interesting, too, that it makes for a great read. I had trouble putting it down, even when it was past my bedtime! The book describes all aspects of Lucy's life and her career. It even has a section devoted to explaining inside jokes that were made on the famous sitcom. Whether you are an extreme Lucy lover, or you just always enjoyed watching her shows, you will definitely find this book interesting and informative!

When red was just a color on a black and white screen, Lucille Ball took that color and made it her own. As America's Favorite Redhead, she ruled the waves for decades. Throughout her long, long history in the entertainment field, she went from chorus girl as a fill in for Eddie Cantor, to the first female studio executive. But somewhere in between, Lucy made herself. And America always loved Lucy. Whether she was hooting on radio, or cavorting with Vivian Vance, her co-star of many, many years on television, Lucy honed her persona to perfection. The Lucy we knew and loved is nothing without the details. Here, with a truly vast knowledge of Lucille Ball, is a book for her fans. Whatever, whomever, whichever little fact previously escaped a story about Lucy, is herein documented and set into stone. With the writing talents of James Sheridan, and Barry Monush, the Lucille Ball FAQ gives us not so much a biography as a timeline. It's filled in with details from her years with Desi, and their production company, Desilu. Lucy's co-stars, much loved pranksters and even a few not -so -much- loved guest stars over the years find their way into these pages. With fact as armor, the authors round out the overview that we knew as Lucy, and give us the lady in toto. You'll love this book for the fun in it's pages, and anyone who is a fan will only expand their knowledge of the dame, and all the joy she brought to America

Well you know you have watched a least 20 or so episodes in your lifetime of “I LOVE LUCY”. And if you are older than I am (35) then you have probably watched a hundred. Sad to say that it is harder to find a rerun these days. But that does not mean that people are not still intrigued by the life of Lucille Ball. Living in Westport, CT where in the show she moved out to, we have many exhibits at the Westport Historical Society about her. So if you are a diehard fan or just interested in learning more about her then I have the perfect book. “Lucille Ball FAQ” by James Sheridan and Barry Monush. It is fun to see in pop culture how movies, theater and famous people referenced “I Love Lucy”. In same breath I can say it was equally as interesting to see how pop culture was a part of her many shows. With incredible research and great references, this book will give you incredible insight and a different look at American’s favorite actress.

I Love Lucy revolutionized the way television shows were made. It became the first show to be watched by 10 million people, then 40 million people a year later. But James Sheridan and Barry Monush take readers beyond the “Lucy” character and into information that may not be common knowledge. Although known for her comic genius, Lucille Ball also was adept at drama, was the first woman to head a major production company on her own, and green-lighted some of the most popular and profitable television series of all time, including Star Trek and Mission: Impossible.
