AMAZING ACCESSORIES: SORBONNE SCARF BY STONE + MANN DESIGN, INC. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY THE FASHION PLATES OF WHOM YOU KNOW!
Peachy Deegan wearing both the red and the green Sorbonne Scarf on 57th and Madison...with her Geiger jacket of course! We reviewed this Sorbonne Style by Stone and Mann in three colors: Red, Black and Green and though each is stunning on its own, if you layer two together the result is also success! The fabric and stitching boasts true American quality, and this brand has wowed us again.
When I saw the Sorbonne Scarf from Stone + Mann, I immediately fell in love with it. I couldn't wait to wear it. When I wore it to work, I received so many complements on it. It was so elegant, and different, that everyone that saw this scarf wanted to know where I got it. I loved that it was four different colors, but incorporated the greens so nicely. It was so soft and lightweight. After putting it on this morning, I didn't really have to adjust it at all during the day. With all the moving I do during the day, I normally don't wear scarves like this. With the holidays coming up quickly, if you are still struggling trying to find that perfect gift, look no further than the Sorbonne Scarf by Stone + Mann. I know I am going to look into another one as a gift for myself.
Chic Chic Chic! This scarf is so luxurious and stylish with its silver and black alternating color block stripes. Yes, color block is still the in-thing. This scarf gives it an updated classic look. Perfect with dressy winter outfits. Would love it with a crisp winter white wool coat. Great as an accessory with a cute black sparkly top…Everything seems to have sequins this year and this scarf can be dressed up with that to create a more dramatic look. It helps add some layers and interest to my red wool coat. The sheen is beautiful and reflects off the light attracting all the right attention. So glam it up with this beautifully made Sorbonne scarf.

Years ago, we (Jackie and Kent, college sweethearts then, happily translated into wife and husband now) traveled a lot -- a big trip to Europe and another to Asia, extended stays in Tucson and Seattle, lots of time in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the California desert, and on the South Carolina coast. And we thought, "Hey, we'll build a whole life around things we really like ... nature and cultures, architecture and craft, and history, photograph, and of course each other.
Then came a move to New York City, corporate jobs, and three kids.
Stone + Mann was started somewhere in the middle of all this. Some quick scarf sketches and samples, successful sales calls to NYC stores, a lucky meeting with a young woman starting a showroom in Japan and so it began. After many successful years designing scarves -- drawing on the shapes of Burmese pagodas, the colors of the desert, the cobblestone patterns on old streets -- and working with boutiques and department stores across America and Japan, including Barneys New York, Anthropologie, Felissimo, Nordstrom, Gallery Vercon, the New York Look and more, we downsized a bit (see kids, above).
Today, based in the beautiful Hudson Valley town of Tarrytown, NY, Stone + Mann offers an ever-changing collection of scarves The collections will grow organically and maybe a little willy-nilly; the whole point is to go with what interests and inspires us, learn more about the world as we go along and let design + commerce mingle as easily as possible with actual life.
One of our favorite books is a children's book, Miss Rumphius, in which a girl grows up and realizes her personal ambitions to travel, live by the sea, and, most importantly, to fulfill her grandfather's wish that she do something to make the world more beautiful. Stone + Mann is our gesture in that direction.
