I've always been a huge fan of fresh mint. Fresh Origins Herb Crystal Mint is a great new, exciting way of using mint! These are the perfect thing to add to desserts. I made Christmas peppermint cookies and added the mint crystals on top of them! They not only tasted delicious, but also were the perfect Christmas colors too! I brought them to my holiday party at work and everyone enjoyed them! In fact, they were gone within minutes!
Fresh Origins Herb Crystals Mint are the perfect way to garnish almost ANYTHING! I love the way they look. I love the way they taste. The beautiful green color is really luxurious. I made this awesome salad and garnished it with mint. It was the perfect crunch and had the perfect taste. I honestly think this makes any at home chef a professional.
I couldn’t wait to try the Fresh Origins Herb Crystals Mint, thinking: Mint and sugar, how can you go wrong?!? But this surpassed my expectations. I sampled the Herb Crystals Mint with ice cream, but in a variety of stages. I first tasted the Heb Crystals Mint with just vanilla ice cream.
This was simple yet delicious, and tasted just like the holidays should taste! I next added some chocolate sauce to the vanilla ice cream and another sprinkling of mint crystals; again, it was delicious.
The final stage was adding whipped cream to my minty sundae. Not surprisingly, this was my favorite variation: the bite that included ice cream-chocolate sauce – whipped cream combination, all laced with the fresh and sweet taste of the Fresh Origins Herb Crystals Mint.
Addendum… I also sprinkled some Fresh Origins Herb Crystals Mint in my hot chocolate this evening, which gave it the perfect fresh, but subtle kick.
I love anything mint. I especially love mint during the winter months. My favorite way to enjoy mint is either a hot tea or hot cocoa. When I received the Fresh Origins Mint Herb Crystals, I was ecstatic. I could make mint hot cocoa any time I wanted. I just sprinkled some crystals on top and enjoyed! I can't wait to research how to use these crystals so I can make more mint deliciousness!
And finally, our resident gourmet weighs in:
Third Course: Pineapple sautéed in butter, Mint Herb Crystals and Fine Rum with coconut sorbet
I have spent much time in the Caribbean, where pineapple, coconut and rum are at their best. While it would be more impressive to tell you that I got a beautifully ripened pineapple to peel and core for this dessert, I didn’t. As mentioned previously, space in my kitchen is at a premium and cubed pineapple from the store suited me perfectly. In a skillet, I dropped a tablespoon of ghee (remember no butter in my half refrigerator), added a heaping tablespoon of Mint Herb Crystals and the pineapple cubes, sautéing until caramelized. Then, I added ¾ cup of premium dark rum from Puerto Rico – Barrilito in this case, hard to find but worth looking for. The ingredients danced and merged in the hot pan, becoming a beautiful caramel color. I placed the pineapple cubes around the dish, poured the butter-mint-rum sauce on the bottom of the soup bowl, and added a scoop of store-bought coconut sorbet in the middle. This dessert was delicious and different. Bottom Line: The sky is the limit when it comes to what you can do with these crystals. Let your imagination run and have fun. I cannot wait to play again with my newfound friends.
