Get the Red Carpet Look: Petra Nemcova at “The Impossible” Premier Created by Jenna Menard, Clinique Global Colour Artist
Clinique’s Global Colour Artist, Jenna Menard, created the red carpet look of Petra Nemcova at Monday night’s highly anticipated movie premier about the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, “The Impossible,” starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. As a survivor of the Indian Ocean Tsunami, Petra launched Happy Hearts Fund in 2006 to help build and rebuild schools in areas affected by natural disasters.
Clinique and Happy Hearts Fund recently announced a multi-year partnership together to further the mission of education. Here's what Jenna Menard said about the look she created for Petra for the red carpet: "Last night at “The Impossible” premier, I wanted to create a look on Petra that did nothing more than accentuate her own beauty in a soft and effortless way. I accomplished this by defining the eyes by combining multiple neutral shimmer shadows, highlighting the skin with blush and highlighter and a nude lip.”
Clinique makeup was used to create Petra’s red carpet look, and here’s the rundown courtesy of Jenna Menard:
SKIN:
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion—I used Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion to prep the skin.
FACE:
Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup—Because Petra was going to be photographed on the red carpet by straight on flashes, I applied a very light layer of Clinique’s Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup where needed, which uses a technology to control oil, shine and sweat while simultaneously mattifying skin.
Blushing Blush Powder Blush in Cupid—I applied the colour just below the cheekbone to contour the face and bring a fresh touch to the skin.
Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator in Bronze—I applied the illuminator on the high cheekbones to highlight and create a glow, perfect for a red carpet moment.
Blended Face Powder in Invisible Blend—Adding powder helps set the foundation, softens the look of the skin and prevents shine.
EYES:
NEW Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Bountiful Beige (launching February 2013)—Using Chubby Eye to create a nude base on the lid from the lash line to the brow bone will soften any natural tone that is on the lid. Apply straight on and then blend and diffuse with a shadow brush.
Colour Surge Eye Shadow Soft Shimmer in Toasted Almond and Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Copper Canyon—Use the lighter shade on the lids on top of the Chubby Stick Shadow Tint to add a little more color and definition on the lid. Use the darker shade at the eye crease and worked more into outer portion of the lid crease just hitting the lower brow bone to elongate the eyes. It is important that when the eyes are open you see a hint of this shadow.
Brush on Cream Liner in True Black—This soft colour liner applied along the lash line helps add extra definition to the overall eye look. I recommend applying with an angled flat liner brush.
High Impact Curling Mascara in Black—Apply multiple coats of this curling mascara with its arched wand that scoops up and lifts up every lash. Mascara helps offset the liner and softens the eyes, adding a feminine touch.
Bottom Lash Mascara in Black—This helps balance the lashes with a bottom lash boost.
LIPS:
NEW Chubby Stick INTENSE Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Curviest Caramel
Superbalm Lip Treatment—Apply for a touch of shine that’s not too glossy.
