Mover and Shaker Picture of the Week: Eli Manning with Chris Wragge
You all remember Mover and Shaker Chris Wragge's amazing pictures from Hurricane Sandy that we republished - and Chris tells us about this photo:
"It was a Sandy relief event in New Jersey-a Q & A session with Eli that I ran. We do this a lot. It raised some good $$ and Eli matched what was raised in the silent auction, 25k. Dunkin Brands held the VIP event for their Franchisees and special guests...about 400 in attendance. Eli did a meet and greet, and then we held a 45 Q+A session. Everyone got a picture with Eli and like I mentioned he donated on his behalf."
It gets even better!
Chris says:
"The young man, Joseph Verrillo, lost his dad during the hurricane... he was hit by an 18 wheeler on route to his home from boarding up his office. Die hard Giants fans.. little Joseph is in the 4th grade and hasn’t taken the jersey off since his dad passed. Joseph’s widowed mom is best friends with a high school friend of mine and she reached out to me for an autograph. Eli asked me to do this event, so I thought 'This might be nice for Joe' got him VIP’d and BOOM, I talked with Eli before and for those moments that morning. ELI made Joseph feel like he was the only person in the room. It was a special moment. Eli was great with him. It was nice distraction for Joseph and his mom."
"And that’s all she wrote. From all accounts, he hasn’t stopped talking about it since."
What a great story! Thank you again Chris Wragge for making the news on Whom You Know and of course CBS Channel 2 in New York is our favorite!

As a side note, one of Peachy's first big interviews in college (if you are reading this for the first time you should be aware she bleeds maroon and gold) was in 1996 with Matt Hasselbeck, who first told her about how when his dad played with the Vikings, they used to play with another player's sons named Peyton and Eli...Hasselbecks vs. Mannings. It's not who you know it's Whom You Know!
