The Washington Winter Show
Tickets are now available for the Washington Winter Show, January 10 - 13, 2013.
The Show and accompanying events will be held at the Katzen Arts Center at American University in Washington, DC. Tickets may be obtained through the Web site at www.washingtonwintershow.org or by calling 202-248-7159. Ample free parking will be available throughout the Show in the parking garage under the building.
Forty-five premier dealers from the United States and Europe will offer a wide range of period furnishings and decorative arts, vintage jewelry, porcelains, ceramics, silver, and architectural garden accents during the Show.
The Diplomatic Chairs are His Excellency Ambassador François Delattre and Mrs. Delattre and the Honorary Chair is Penny Chenery, owner of the Triple Crown winner Secretariat. The Presenting Sponsor of the Show is PNC Financial Services.
The Washington Winter Show benefits three local charities focused on children and families: The Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys; THEARC; and the St. John's Community Services.

 Preview Night Party 
Sponsors, Benefactors, and Designers Champagne Reception
6:00 - 7:00 pm 
Sponsors, benefactors and designers are invited to a private early viewing of both the Loan Exhibition and the Show. Enjoy champagne as you wander through the booths, chat with the exhibitors, and have the first look at the fascinating antiques available for purchase. Ticket includes admission to the Gala Patrons' and Young Collectors' Reception, the run of the Show, and a Show catalogue.

Toast the opening of the 2013 Washington Winter Show, The Thrill of the Chase: Antiques of the Sporting Life. Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and an elegant buffet dinner catered by Susan Gage while previewing the Loan Exhibition and the Show. The Patrons and Young Collectors Party includes admission forthe run of the Show and a Show Catalogue.

Chic Le Sport, Lecture and Buffet Luncheon with Madame Ménéhould de Bazelaire Director of Cultural Heritage for HERMES, Paris
10:30 am - 1:30 pm 

Since 1986, Ménéhould de Bazelaire, Director of Cultural Heritage has curated the Hermès private collection in an "Ali Baba's cavern" of artifacts and antiques reflective of the rich patrimony of the House. For the 2013 Washington Winter Show Luncheon Lecture, Madame de Bazelaire will conjure Hermès' sporting spirit which remains very much alive within the walls of the Émile Hermès Museum.

Westminster, America's Dog Show, Lecture with Thomas H. Bradley, 3d., the Westminster Show chair and David Frei, the television co-host since 1990.
2:00 p.m. 

The speakers will provide a look at the dogs and the people in its colorful history. The Westminster Kennel Club is America's oldest organization devoted to purebred dogs. Its world-famous all breed dog show has been held in New York City each February since 1877.

Book Signing with Penny Chenery, owner of Triple Crown winner Secretariat, and Leeanne Meadows Ladin, coauthor of books on Secretariat and Riva Ridge 2:00 p.m.
Penny and Leeanne will be signing Secretariat's Meadow - The Land, The Family, The Legend, and Riva Ridge - Penny's First Champion, both wonderful books on outstanding racehorses. The books,which trace the history of the horses, the family, and the land, are coauthored by Kate Tweedy, Penny Chenery's daughter, and Leeanne Meadows Ladin.

Appraisals 
9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
(Charge of $10.00 per item) Come to the Washington Winter Show's answer to the Antiques Road Show. Learn about the history and value of your favorite antique or beloved, but mysterious "treasure." Prior to the opening of the Show, dealers will be available to give verbal appraisals. Bring your items to the Show or, if your treasure is too large, bring photos.
Jazz Night 
6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
(Please indicate your attendance when purchasing Show tickets online) 

Listen to the smooth jazz sounds from the Levine School of Music Faculty Jazz Band. Sample hors d'ouevres and sip your favorite beverage from our cash bar. Explore the amazing antiques displayed by our renowned dealers. All of this is available for the price of admission to the Show. A great way to spend a Saturday night with friends!

The Washington Winter Show was founded in December 2009 by the former Trustees of the Washington Antiques Show to raise funds for local charities that serve the needs of children and families in the Washington, DC metropolitan area by sponsoring an annual antiques and fine arts show.
