Musical Icons, Hollywood Stars and TV Personalities to Attend 2013 International CES® Celebrity Guests Promote Latest Technologies at World’s Largest Annual Innovation Event
Popular musicians, movie stars and television personalities will promote the latest innovations shaping the consumer electronics industry during the 2013 International CES®. Owned and produced by the Consumer Electronics Association® (CEA), the 2013 CES, the world’s largest annual innovation event, is scheduled for January 8-11, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Actress Felicia Day will serve as the Entertainment Matters Ambassador for the Entertainment Matters at CES program. Entering its third year, Entertainment Matters at CES is designed by and for Hollywood’s film, television and digital communities.
The Entertainment Matters program includes a plethora of interesting and innovative conference sessions, including The International Academy of Web Television’s (IAWTV) conference track: The Digital Entertainment Transformation. The track features the IAWTV Keynote Conversation: Cross-Platform Storytelling with Tim Kring. Creator and executive producer of Fox TV's TOUCH and NBC's Heroes, Kring set the bar for multiplatform interactive storytelling with Heroes, and created the ground-breaking, award winning multiplatform experience. The conference track ends with a Closing Rant from Josh Feldman, Producer and co-writer for Tom Hanks’ Electric City; Executive Producer of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Founder of FeldmanFilms, Inc. Feldman will share perspectives on what happens when technology and content goes terribly right.
Multi-platinum, three-time Grammy Award winning band Maroon 5 will be making a special guest appearance at Qualcomm Incorporated’s chairman and chief executive officer Dr. Paul E. Jacobs’ preshow CES keynote address, scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 7 in The Venetian’s Palazzo Ballroom on level 5. Maroon 5 has sold 15 million albums globally, with hit singles including “Moves Like Jagger,” "This Love," "She Will Be Loved," "Harder to Breathe," "Sunday Morning," “Makes Me Wonder," “One More Night” and “Payphone.”
Rapper, entrepreneur, investor and actor Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, will make an appearance at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at the SMS Audio booth (LVCC, South Hall 1, #20206). SMS audio combines technology, function and style to bring the highest caliber of sound, comfort and fashion to every product.
Founder and chairman of i.am.plus, llc, will.i.am is a multi-faceted entertainer and creative innovator. A seven-time Grammy Award winner known for his work with The Black Eyed Peas,will.i.am is a founding shareholder in Beats Electronics, the creators of the Beats by Dre™ headphones. will is a featured panelist on the Next Generation of Innovators keynote at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8 in the LVH Theater.
Anthony Ryan Auld, the hottest designer on “Project Runway,” will demonstrate Brother International’s latest high-tech machines. Auld will be at the Brother International booth (Venetian Ballroom, #71109) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday January 9. Auld was featured in the ninth season of “Project Runway,” where he placed seventh in the competition. In 2012, he joined the cast of “Project Runway All Stars.”
World-renowned drummer and producer Travis Barker will sign autographs from 12-1 p.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, at the Pioneer Electronics Booth (LVCC, North Hall Booth #1101). In addition to his passion for drumming and creating music, Barker is a self-proclaimed car enthusiast. Barker’s classic 1951 Chevy truck will be on display throughout the show, showcasing Pioneer’s 2013 car audio products.
Dana Cohen, dubbed the “Scallop Queen” on season 10 of “Hell’s Kitchen,” will accompany Haier America to the 2013 CES. She will appear daily at the Haier America booth (LVCC, Central Hall, #10939).
An actor and director with over 35 years of experience, Bill Duke will be at the Qubeey, Inc. booth (LVCC, South Hall 4, #36156). Duke and Queeby collaborated to design the first film for exclusive distribution directly to desktops and other device tops. The film, “Menace,” takes viewers on a suspense-filled ride where they get to choose what happens at every turn. Duke will be at the booth at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, to discuss how Queeby’s advanced technology is an entertainment game-changer.
Donald Shultz, famous venom expert, extreme adventurer and host of Animal Planet’s, “Wild Recon,” will wow 2013 CES attendees with an exciting stunt. Shultz will base-jump off a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip live during CES. Immediately following his jump, attendees can meet the daredevil at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, at the Queeby, Inc. booth (LVCC, South Hall 4, #36156).
Star of the new Las Vegas reality show on TLC, “Sin City Rules,” Lana Fuchs and former welter-weight boxing champion Victor Ortiz will be at the Luvvitt LLC booth (LVCC, North Hall, #4102). Fuchs and Ortiz will be signing autographs and holding a meet and greet for fans and media at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8.
Health and fitness is a prominent theme at the 2013 CES. This year, exercise physiologist and certified special trainer Bob Greene will join the Omron Healthcare, Inc. booth (LVCC, South Hall 2, #26511) to sign autographs and give attendees tips to a healthy lifestyle. Greene specializes in fitness, metabolism and weight loss. He's been a frequent guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” has appeared on dozens of national television programs and has authored several best-selling books. Green will be at the booth on Tuesday, January 8 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and will host a book signing at 11 a.m.
Chicago band, I Fight Dragons, whose track "Save World Get Girl" recently premiered on Nintendo 3DS video, will perform their first-ever iBand-style set at a gig for Bém Wireless guests at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9 at the Flight Lounge at Luxor. Lemmy Kilmister is best known as the lead vocalist, bassist, principal songwriter and the founding member of Motörhead. He will be at the Krusell International AB booth (LVCC, South Hall 4, #35801) at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8. Kilmister is a former band member of Hawkwind and has made a number of cameo appearances in film and television.
Kelly LeBrock will appear daily at the Velodyne Acoustics booth (Venetian Ballroom, #71115) and suite (Venetian Tower, Suite 30-131) daily. A popular actress and model, LeBrock made her acting debut in, “The Woman in Red,” alongside famous comedian Gene Wilder.
New and hot-on-the-scene rapper Lil Twist will appear at CES at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, at the Nikura booth (LVCC, South Hall 4, #37134). Lil Twist is a protégé of famous rapper, Lil Wayne, and just went on tour with Justin Bieber.
On Tuesday, January 8 at 4:30 p.m., LL COOL J, star of CBS’s hit drama series “NCIS: LOS ANGELES,” will be interviewed by CNET’s Brian Tong at the CNET Stage (LVCC, South Hall 3, CNET Booth) where they will talk about Boomdizzle’s Liquid MyConnect Studio app.
Former football player and son of Bob Marley, Rohan Marley, will be at CES showcasing hisHouse of Marley eco-friendly headphones. Marley will be at the House of Marley booth (LVCC, Central Hall, #10544) from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. from Tuesday, January 8 through Thursday, January 10.
The Digital Health Summit at the 2013 CES is focused on one of the fastest growing markets where health, wellness and technology come together. It kicks off with an opening session moderated byDr. Sanjay Gupta, chief medical correspondent, CNN. Dr. Oz joins the Digital Health Summit conference track at CES. He will be featured as a panelist on The Breakfast of Healthy Champions session (LVCC, North Hall, Room N250) on Thursday, January 10 at 10 a.m. This session features a candid conversation about the industry and how technology is playing a crucial role. Dr. Oz is a cardiothoracic surgeon, author and television personality. He is best known for his appearances on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and for his own show, “The Dr. Oz Show.”
The Digital Health Summit conference track also features SuperSession, “The Digital Health Revolution: Body Mind and Soul.” Join moderator Arianna Huffington as she leads a conversation on the latest innovations in the field. Joseph Ward Simmons, better known as Rev. Run, will be available for autographs and pictures at the Jabra booth (LVCC, Central Hall, #11608) from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, alongside DJ Ruckus. Rev. Run is one of the founding members of the influential hip-hop group Run-D.M.C. He is also a practicing minister and co-founder of Def Jam Records.
Rev. Run’s older brother will also be at the 2013 CES. Russell Simmons is featured as a speaker for the conference session, “Anytime, Anywhere Content,” where content providers and device manufacturers examine how and where the public is getting content and the delivery platforms poised for growth. Simmons is the founder of Def Comedy/Poetry Jam, Global Grind and All Def Digital.
Also featured in a conference session is actor, director and producer Matthew Lillard in “Creative Technology Trendsetters.” Lillard is best known for his work in “Scream,” “Scooby-Doo,” and “The Descendants.” In this session, pioneers of film production and special effects analyze how they are advancing their cutting-edge creativity into the future.
BG183, Bio and Nicer from TATS CRU, Inc., a group of Bronx-based graffiti artists turned professional muralists, will perform a live art demo at the Cygnett booth (LVCC, North Hall, #6009). Attendees can catch them in the act at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8.
The Gibson Guitar tent (LVCC, CES Central Plaza, CP-30) will be the hot spot for live performances during CES. Performances include: Frank Moreno (5 p.m. Tuesday, January 8) andB-Side (4-5:00 p.m.; 6-7:00 p.m. January 8-10).
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is the New York Times bestselling author of “A Shore Thing,” “Confessions of a Guidette” and “Gorilla Beach.” She is the breakout star of MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” the highest-rated shows in the network’s history. She will be at the Zeikos booth (LVCC, South Hall 1, #21142) from 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9.
SOUL Electronics will be accompanied by Tim Tebow, quarterback for the New York Jets and Heisman trophy winner. Tebow will be at the SOUL Electronics suite (Venetian Tower, #31-234) at 9 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, for the product launch of the Tebow line. SOUL Electronics will also be throwing an after party at TAO Nightclub at 10 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, hosted by popular recording artist and actor, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges.
