Bistro Vendome, a Peachy's Pick, is an absolutely phenomenal choice for Takeout in the busy season of getting 2013 started right in Manhattan!  If you live close enough, we highly recommend the incomparable Mussels Provencale swimming in a perfect garlic and parsley butter, which is the simply the stuff of dreams.  Beautifully presented (and note, this is on their plate for the picture Peachy requested-but also know that their takeout containers are beautiful as well.  Remember they are French...), these mussels are the ones everyone should be wanting in 2013, despite resolutions that you may have of the other muscle kind.  Succulent and fresh, mussels provencale by Bistro Vendome will impress even the most discriminating among you.

For a main, we selected the Roasted Salmon, which we found to be seared to perfection.  In a wintery season, the French green lentils are the ideal companion to such fish and the onion jus was an amazing touch.  Everything at Bistro Vendome is complete quality and it is the right choice to make for an unforgettable dining experience-even if you are pursuing the takeout option!
At the suggestion of Bistro Vendome, which was spot-on by the way, we tried Cold Artichoke Salad as the salad component of our meal.  With parmesean and dijon mustard dressing, this was one of the best salad experiences we've had in recent memory.  The intelligence of combination of ingredients, the perfect cubes of tomato and the entire compilation was divine. Again, it was gorgeous-so much so in fact, we had to soak up the beauty before the fork dove in!

Finally, a nice touch they have is a compilation of fantastic upbeat, soothing music via cd that is specific to their restaurant at the door that when you listen to, will remind you to go back for more excellence that you find at Bistro Vendome!
