Terrific Takeout: La Bouchon
Brand new on the Upper East side at 304 East 78th Street, La Bouchon is another French option!
As a salad we tried the mixed baby greens with shaved parmesean cheese and grilled shrimp with a creative drizzle of balsamic dressing.
Many menu items look convincing, so we tried two different entrees at the suggestion of Owner Alim Maruf, who previously owned a restaurant in another borough and also worked at the French restaurant here in Manhattan Les Halles on Park Avenue South. Above is the Noix de Saint Jacques: Pan Seared Scallops Served with Cauliflower Puree and Balsamic Reduction. We also detected some substantial ratatouille there...
The Alaskan Salmon is not to be overlooked and was the best of the three dishes. Pan Seared Herb Salmon Served over Ratatouille and lemon caper butter was fantastic-La Bouchon is a new French place to watch!
