ALBERTA FERRETTI : Redken's Runway Report from Milan, hair by Guido Our Coverage Sponsored by Marcony Restaurant

Marcony is one of the premier Italian venues to dine at in Manhattan located at 184 Lexington Avenue between 31st and 32nd streets in the Murray Hill neighborhood. It is multi-level, offering two private dining areas, outdoor seating, and an intimate low-ceiling bar. Their stellar fresh seafood in particular is ideal for dining this summer and everything we have ever eaten at Marcony impresses us immensely. Equally breathtaking is the decor: painted white and blue with dark wood and chrome accents, the space suggests a small yacht cruising around the Isle of Capri, where owner Marco Pipolo hails from. Marcony has been highly recommended by Whom You Know:

and recently it has gained acclaim for its outdoor area, one of the best inManhattan:

And, it was not lost on Peachy that it has one of the most amazing chandeliers in the city:

Redken Creative Consultant Guido created a modern romantic (or perhaps modern-yet-romantic!) French twist for the Alberta Ferretti Fall 2013 show to kick off Fashion Week in Milan today. The style was in essence a reflection of the collection itself: the clothes were pretty and feminine yet exuded more strength and structure than we usually see from the designer, while Guido played with a new texture for the hair, giving a traditional French twist more shape and tenacity in a similar way.

"I really used quite a lot of product to help me create the style for this look today, as I wanted to ensure it wasn't too soft or too pretty of a French twist. By first drenching wet hair in Redken's full frame 07 mousse I created a different texture- and the texture is what gives the look another dimension. I then added the new high hold Redken control addict 28 hairspray, layering it on as the style dried to keep it stiff, strong, and wet-looking. You see then that the hair really becomes almost a different substance; it's romantic yet also modern and more 'nighttime', even a little tougher, and cooler."

Create the Look:

1. Starting with damp hair, create a middle part and then saturate with full frame 07 mousse working section by section and adding most on the crown.

2. Begin to rake hair back and wrap up into a French twist, but leave two front sections on either side of the part out before you start to twist up.

3. Pin the twist into place and then sculpt the shape of the front of the style by pulling back the sections you left out with your fingers, keeping the center part visible.

4. Pin the sections back into the twist, leaving the ends out to create a few wisps and ensure it's not "too perfect."

5. Spray a generous amount of control addict 28 high control hairspray all over finished style as it dries for extra hold.
