Terrific Takeout: Bagel Boss

When in Rome...and when at a Bagel Place, do what they do best!  Peachy Deegan was absolutely beguiled by the sensational simplicity of the Bagel Boss plain bagel with cream cheese, salmon, capers, red onion and tomato!  This original staple of a bagel joint is phenomenal at Bagel Boss and Peachy does lament its passing in her stomach.  Every component was quintessentially what it should be and all together, it was so much more with every bite.

You all may be surprised to see us featuring a spot as casual as a bagel place, but please be advised this is no ordinary bagel place.  This is Bagel Boss!  It is Gourmet for people like Peachy who have their pinkies out when they are bagel connoisseurs.  Peachy's personal favorite at any bagel place is onion or garlic with scallion cream cheese (with all the fat.  We hate anything nonfat.)

Both the onion and garlic varieties were simply astounding at Bagel Boss, which you should know has been open for over 50 years- they are that good.  And, as they are open 24/7 they will always be open when you are dying, dying, dying for a bagel (possibly after that gala dinner served at a spot with inedible concoctions.)

We do not feature that many bagel places for the simple reason that there aren't that many outstanding ones in our experience.  Bagel Boss is outstanding.  So, what else do they do...Peachy wanted to know.  For your benefit, readers!

Paninis?

They do those-here is the Italian version.  The pickles also are not to be missed. Usually Peachy just leaves them there, but at Bagel Boss, every bite was eaten with enthusiasm.  Note the side salad!

Bagel Boss has clearly anticipated people as picky as Peachy coming in...because look at how many salads you have to choose from!

Just as good as the bagels are the green salads, and we are advocates of the Asparagus Portabella Salad!  Field greens, red peppers, grape tomatoes, grilled portabella mushrooms, asparagus and feta cheese had one big party to nutritionally compliment the bagels!  Every component was fresh and intelligently sliced into attractive bite-sized pieces.

And, if you go for dinner and want something a bit more hearty, we heartily do recommend their lasagna.  They also have quite a compilation of catering choices should you so desire to have them at your next event.
