We can't think of a better combination than dresses and paintings!
The parasols of France from the 1860's we found particularly exquisite! The sailing regatta off the Isle of Wight was among our favorites-The Ball on Shipboard 1874.
From a room of white dresses to a room of black dresses, this exhibit was organized well and in the days before Coco Chanel was advocating a tan, we must say the black looked much more stunning on the pale-skinned beauties! We found the cut and styles of the black dresses more striking as well.
We would like to know where the shoes come from in some of the cases...says the shoe-obsessed Editor-in-Chief here. Who was making shoes back then?
The men were not ignored; seeing their styles of the time was equally remarkable!
80 major figure paintings make this exhibit a must-see at The Met! The ravishing styles will delight you.
