Finding a spot near the Javits center with food deserving of your trip to New York if you are exhibiting or visiting the Javits is no easy feat, especially one with as beautiful a chandelier as Linc 42 has.  Recently, we were walking by Linc 42 and just had to try it out!  It's been open since January 31, 2012.  We are pleased to say it has a solid menu and delightful service that will meet your expectations.  From the moment we walked in, server Wendy was perfectly pleasant doing a fantastic job all evening-she ought to own the place.  Peachy began with the Mediterranean salad, delivered with dressing on the side as requested.  Fresh crunch romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and feta took a dive into the lemon vinaigrette to start off Peachy Deegan's Linc 42 experience with a variety of nutrition.
It was joined by a solid Montepulciano D'Abbruzzo with light tannins and acidity and a terrific understated fruit blend.

Linc 42 was first featured in Tasty Tidbits:

And we are pleased to announce it has joined Peachy's Picks.

After the splendid salad, the devil on one of Peachy's shoulders smiled at the angel that ordered the salad on the other as the Deegans tried the tantalizing pizza choice: Sausage and Peppers.  This had a really nice soft crust and the mozzarella, tomato and basil hit the spot.   The pizza looked good to us, but it tasted far better!  It was perfectly cooked, not overdone, not underdone, but just right for Goldilocks Peachy. And you know the girl loves pizza...

At a bistro such as this, it is a good idea to consider a menu item such as Steak Frites.  Peachy's arrived exactly as ordered: grilled medium.  The marinated skirt steak was juicy and delicious, and beautifully presented as well.  And, without asking, she was given two ketchup options:

We like it when venues put thought into something like this without us having to ask.  Options are terrific!  Both the regular ketchup and the chipotle were dynamic additions to the fries, which we are pleased to say were no ordinary fries.  Garlic parmesan fries are now high on our list and we have not had them before!  At dessert, bartender Chris Lacroix joined us and Peachy loved the apple pie a la mode.

Our esteemed panelist adds:
Sometimes you have to go a little out of your way to find something truly special. That is absolutely the case with The Linc 42. Located on 42nd Street near 12th Avenue, this restaurant proved to be a diamond in the rough. I began with a robust Malbec which boasted lovely notes of black fruit and licorice and paired quite well with my culinary endeavors.

Upon opening the door, I felt welcomed by the warm and friendly staff. The decor was smart and clean, complete with a very cool chandelier.

And the food exceeded all my expectations. I started off my meal with the Southwest salad. This tasty salad consisted of mixed greens, black beens, corn, avocado, tortilla chips, and a lime chipotle dressing.

The southwestern flair was certainly welcomed on the cold February night! It was a perfect way to start off the meal. After the salad, I sampled the sausage and pepper pizza with mozzarella, tomato, and basil. With just one bite, my mouth was watering like crazy! This pizza was far better than anything I could have imagined.

It was just the perfect balance of sweet red peppers, spicy sausage, and salty gooey cheese. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur, and this pizza goes up near the top of my list! Then for my main course, I had the Salmon, which was grilled with sauteed spinach and fingerling potatoes.

The salmon was cooked perfectly. It was flaky and practically melted in my mouth. The flavors were excellent, and I couldn't help but want more!

The spinach on the side was the ideal complement to the fish. Cooked with garlic, it was delicious. The potatoes were also a great accompaniment. I love potatoes with every meal, and these did not disappoint! Finally, as the meal drew to a close, I finished off the night with a slice of chocolate cake. You can never go wrong with chocolate! I was so pleased with this wonderful restaurant that is slightly off the beaten path. Next time you find yourself near Times Square, walk an extra block or two to The Linc. You will not be disappointed!
