We know you want to be drinking out of Dave's glass! You get that size when you own the event...and the place to be in New York last night was Chelsea Piers, specifically Pier 60 at Whiskey Live! Sales of premium bourbons are setting records around the world and we can't wait to feature some of the fantastic brands we learned about last night in a review context. You know Whistle Pig has already been featured and highly recommended since Peachy has known classmate and Mover and Shaker Raj Bhakta since the Boston College days. Raj you should have been there last night! Companies are expanding historic Scotch distilleries—adding equipment just to keep up with the global demand for single malt Scotch. The American craft distilling scene has exploded—growing from about 100 distilleries in 2007 to over 360 today and another 40 under construction.

Peachy has been going to Johnnie Walker events since age 22 at the Harvard Club in Boston with the Boston Ski and Sports Club. We also used to enjoy the Glenlivet City Links miniature golf in New York and hope they do that again.

Master distillers, brand ambassadors and industry experts poured over 250 whiskies and we were also happy to see Jameson-up with Ireland. The evening also included a lavish bourbon-themed dinner buffet sponsored by Bourbon Country, Kentucky’s tourism alliance.

Whisky Live is part of Tartan Week NYC, a week-long event that features art exhibits, concerts, parties, fashion shows, a 10K road race through Central Park and, of course, the annual Tartan Day Parade down 6th Avenue (Saturday, April 6).
