Salon Peachy: Spring in Manhattan Means Highlights at The Cutler Salon Hats off to Mover and Shaker Rodney Cutler and His Winning Team of Color Goddess Gaby Bowen, Amazing Stylist Mickey Charles and Dedicated Assistant Megan Wojdyla!

It's spring in Manhattan: the tulips are sprouting on Park Avenue, the birds are chirping, and Peachy Deegan's golden highlights are growing in naturally.  Well, maybe not EXACTLY naturally, but we've been told they look that way thanks to the talent and dedication of The Cutler Salon.  Mover and Shaker Rodney Cutler is the best anywhere and he and his team prove it again and again.  We first worked with Rodney exactly three years ago this month, and have worked with him exclusively for many years as their talent and depth surpasses all other salons.  Plus, they use Redken and we love them!  Rodney is a Redken ambassador.  We believe we have covered every Redken launch over the past four years.

As you know in December of 2012, the shade of Peachy Deegan's hair took a dramatic turn back to her natural dark brown, which we loved all winter.  We received many compliments and were happy to go back to the classic standard as back then in the depths of the dark winter we had gotten tired of highlights.  Though colorists do not necessarily believe in highlights for the spring, Peachy Deegan does and in taking out the spring wardrobe of white whites, dresses, espadrilles and sandals galore there is something about highlights that gets us even more excited for the fantastic weather that we've been waiting for.

The one thing we needed to be careful about was the darker single process-highlights of the exactly the same tone that we used to do are not immediately achievable if we want it to look natural and avoid red hair (the golden rule according to Peachy if this is your first time reading Salon Peachy...) so we lightened up to a very similar tone that looks ideal for spring.  Color Goddess Gaby Bowen's strategy was highlights, treatment, then a glaze.  We've worked with Gaby for a long time now and have every confidence that her skill in color is unsurpassed.  She always places color to enhance your look and listens to what you want and honestly tells you what is possible and what could be more of a risk, but always achieves the desired result, and she does it right the first time, every time.

Megan is one of our favorite assistants, and she always has the best outfits we have noticed.  Not only that, we can tell how dedicated she is to doing her best consistently and she is a pleasure to work with and has impeccable manners.

After the color was perfect, we were thrilled to work with Mickey Charles, who is well on her way to becoming the next Mover and Shaker Kelsy Osterman-not that she should be anyone other than she is but Mickey is highly talented at styling hair, and Kelsy is our favorite.  Armed with a bevy of round brushes, Mickey worked her magic, giving Peachy a polished, classic look. Now Peachy can walk down Park Avenue listening to the birds with her natural-looking highlights, thanks to the excellence of The Cutler Salon.  It's a secret we cannot keep-make your appointment you will love them there!
