Brasil Vívido - A Selling Exhibition Of Brazilian Contemporary Art At Sotheby's

This May, Sotheby’s S|2 will present Brasil Vívido, a selling exhibition of Brazilian contemporary art showcasing many of the country’s most exciting artists working today. The exhibition, which Sotheby’s has assembled with input from prominent collectors, will present over fifty works by sixteen artists with wide, established appeal both in Brazil and internationally. Among the artists featured in the show will be Adriana Varejão, Carlito Carvalhosa, Miguel Rio Branco, Cinthia Marcelle and Lucas Arruda.

Katia Mindlin Leite-Barbosa, President of Sotheby’s Brazil, said: “With Brazil becoming an ever increasing focus for Sotheby’s, we are delighted to bring the creative richness and sophistication of the country’s contemporary art to our S|2 galleries. As the art world converges on New York in May, many of our most talented and compelling artists will be prominently showcased to a global audience at Sotheby’s. The exhibition follows the recent opening of Sotheby’s Brazil, expansion of local staff, and a travelling exhibition of international auction highlights. With a headquarters in São Paulo and representatives in Rio de Janeiro, Sotheby’s remains the only international auction house with a formal presence in Brazil.”
