This month, The Walt Disney Family Museum proudly presents Camille Rose Garcia: Down the Rabbit Hole. Follow the White Rabbit and journey with us through a series of special programs, classes, and film screenings that celebrate Garcia’s unique and surreal take on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. On Saturday, May 11, join the artist in several intimate programs—first, a hands-on Learn from the Masters morning workshop, where participants explore the bold linework-style found in Garcia’s work as well as vintage Disney art. Next, at 2pm in the theater, exhibition curator Tere Romo leads an Artist Talk with Garcia about the development of her creative process and craft, and how growing up under the shadow of Disneyland influenced her signature look. After the program, get your books, prints, and other ephemera signed by the artist herself. Tickets are selling fast, so don’t be late for this very important date!

Learn the tools to tell a story visually. Artist Andy Gouveia discusses the picture-making techniques used for creating storybooks, comics, graphic novels, and storyboards. This workshop explores the picture-making process involved in making all types of sequential art, including discussion, demonstration and creating a short story sequence from rough idea to finished illustration.
