The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York is our favorite museum.
We could not be more thrilled to tell you they've renovated 45 of their glorious European Galleries.  The last time this was done was 1951.  We initially told you about it here:
We aspire to have the time to see all 45 but did get to about 8 recently.  This massive collection surely has something for everyone, and maintenance of great work is often taken for granted in our world today.  Do not take these great permanent exhibitions for granted!  We encourage you to go appreciate them; we are so lucky to have them so close by.

“As we mark the completion of the new European Paintings Galleries, we celebrate this collection’s remarkable legacy and significance to the Met,” said Thomas P. Campbell, Director and CEO of the Metropolitan Museum. “By substantially increasing the space devoted to these works of art and integrating new scholarship in the galleries and online, Keith Christiansen and his team of curators now present the first comprehensive rethinking of these holdings in over four decades. The result is an extraordinary experience for our more than six million annual visitors from around the world.”
