My license tag has been CLAM DIP for over 25 years! I get a lot of strange looks on the highway, of course, and comments from folks in parking lots. You see, Clam Dip was my company’s first product. And of our three dips (crab, shrimp and clam), clam dip is my favorite! I used to make it all the time when I was a kid in North Carolina. So when I moved to the Eastern Shore in 1984 and a few months later started Blue Crab Bay, what else could I come up with to add to the multitude of clams found here? The Eastern Shore of Virginia is famous nationwide for its seafood aquaculture, and probably produces more clams than any other region in the USA.
