Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing Joins Brookings International Advisory Council Technology leader to contribute strategic and global perspective to world-class think tank
Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY), has joined the International Advisory Council of the Washington, DC-based Brookings Institution, a globally-recognized independent and nonpartisan research organization.
The International Advisory Council is a select group of distinguished and influential international business and community leaders drawn from 25 countries on five continents. The role of the Advisory Council is to provide advice and diverse perspectives in helping the Brookings Institution address a wide range of significant global economic, political, social and cultural issues.

Yang Yuanqing returned to Lenovo’s chairman position in 2011 and has been leading Lenovo's global business as CEO since 2009. Under his leadership, Lenovo has become the largest PC manufacturer in the world; significantly expanded its PC Plus offerings (including tablets and smartphones) and become the third largest maker of smart connected devices worldwide. Lenovo has approximately 46,000 employees located in 60+ countries worldwide including its various joint ventures in countries like Germany, Japan, the U.S. and Brazil; and it has customers in more than 160 countries.
