As it gets chillier and chillier in Manhattan and the temperatures drop, sidewalk cafes close (sadly!), prime time improves and more people are ordering takeout.  Also, work is busier than summertime so many eat dinner at their desk.  Peachy Deegan once did this when she worked for someone else...but when you get takeout there is a wide variety of qualities you can encounter.  We feature the best and to that end we're pleased to introduce to you a hot new cocktail spot on the Upper East Side: J Bird Cocktails!  We began with the Cobb Salad, featured above.  Mixed greens, tomato, onions, avocado, bacon, egg, blue cheese and a fabulously creative cherry vinaigrette graced out plate.  Super fresh, it was a lovely portion that the lighter eater may have as an entree.  Salads are a must at dinner and for a cocktail bar, J Bird Cocktails has excellent cuisine.
For an appetizer, we opted for the Seared Sesame Tuna.  Served with avocado, which is a brilliant combination, this tuna was fresh and delicious.  Sliced in an appropriate thinness and arranged beautifully, the Seared Sesame Tuna is an appetizer we'd welcome again.
Without a doubt, the piece de resistance at J Bird Cocktails is the Damn Good Burger.  Appropriately named, it boasts killer flavor and Peachy Deegan absolutely devoured it!  With her pinkie out, of course.  Grilled to perfection at medium as requested, this burger had a party and invited Vermont cheddar, caramelized onions, and dill pickle.  The fries were equally laudable as they were rosemary fries, and note that detail is adhered to at this new hot spot: they make their own ketchup.  Truly an artisan burger.
Yes, J Bird Cocktails is Terrific Takeout!
