The New York Landmarks Conservancy Presents: Tourist In Your Own Town # 7 - Weeksville Heritage Center
We are very pleased to present the seventh installment of our video seriesencouraging New Yorkers and visitors alike to discover the rich abundance of remarkable landmarks that surround us each and every day.
This month we celebrate Black History Month by visiting the landmark Weeksville Heritage Center in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Weeksville represents a community built by and for free African Americans in the 19th Century. Tours are available year-round, and we recommend learning about this extraordinary story and seeing the national landmark buildings that for years remained hidden away, waiting to be rediscovered. Thank you to Executive Director Pamela Green and her staff at Weeksville.
