The Washington Capitals along with several Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia-area rinks will participate in USA Hockey’s Try Hockey for Free Day on Saturday, Nov. 2. The event will help kick off the third annual Come Play Hockey Month, which takes place during the entire month of November.
Nearly 500 rinks across the country will invite boys and girls ages four to nine years old to “Try Hockey for Free” with clinics aimed to help kids experience ice hockey for the first time and learn the basics of the sport in a fun, safe environment.
Try Hockey For Free Day is part of Come Play Hockey Month. The program, designed to provide youth hockey associations a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport, is a joint‐effort between USA Hockey, the National Hockey League, and NHL member clubs.
