BRUINS TO HOST MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY ON VETERANS DAY, NOVEMBER 11, IN GAME VS TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING; 5 BRUINS PLAYERS DONATED $12,500 WORTH OF TICKETS TO SOLIDERS


The Boston Bruins will honor local military members, 
veterans, and their families at Military Appreciation Day presented by 
the Army National Guard of Massachusetts and New Hampshire on Monday, 
November 11 at 1:00 p.m. during the Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning game 
at the TD Garden. To show their support for the armed forces on this 
upcoming Veterans Day, Bruins players Matt Bartkowski, Johnny Boychuk, 
David Krejci, Torey Krug and Dennis Seidenberg, will each purchase 
$2,500 worth of tickets to the Bruins/Lightning game to give to local 
military members and their families. The military members who sit in 
these player-donated seats will have the opportunity to meet the players 
postgame.

Bruins fans can follow the lead of their favorite Bruins players 
through the team’s “Seats for Soldiers” program. The Seats for 
Soldiers program enables fans to purchase specially priced $125 Lower 
Level Seats and $75 Upper Level Seats that will be donated to the Boston 
Bruins Foundation who in turn will donate them to the USO New England.

The entire Bruins team will wear camouflaged Spoked-B jerseys for 
warm-ups and will use camouflaged stick tape during them game to show 
their support for Military Appreciation Day.

Patrice Bergeron will host Defending The Blue Line in his private suite 
as part of his Patrice’s Pals program. DTBL is a non-profit 
organization, which ensures children of military members are afforded 
every opportunity to participate in the game of hockey.

The soldiers and families in attendance will be honored throughout the 
game with photo montages on the Garden HDX, Zamboni rides, and more. The 
Bruins Pro Shop and the Fan Zone stores offer 10% off with a military ID 
at all times. In conjunction with Military Appreciation Day, all
military will receive a 20% off discount at the Pro Shop and all Fan 
Zone locations on the day of the game.

All in-game fundraising from the 50/50 raffle and silent auction of 
team signed, warm-up worn camouflaged jerseys will benefit the USO. The 
USO is a nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization, 
which relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and 
corporations to support its activities. The USO is not part of the U.S. 
government, but is recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and 
the President of the United States, who serves as Honorary Chairman of 
the USO.

Fans can also support USO’s Operation Little Elf in order to lift the 
spirits of soldiers and their families this holiday season. To support 
this initiative on Military Appreciation Day fans can bring an iTunes 
Gift Card (any amount between $5 and not to exceed $25) to be sent to 
troops serving overseas or bring a grocery, gas, store or movie gift 
card (any amount between $5 and not to exceed $25) to be given to local 
New England military families of deployed military this holiday season.
