READ THIS: Artistic License by Geoffrey Bradfield

There are a lot of people who call themselves interior designers, but there's only one Geoffrey Bradfield, and he sets the standard for excellence in this realm.  If you have read us before this is not news to you but the high level of consistency is of great comfort and little surprise: his eye for quality is unparalleled.  Mover and Shaker Geoffrey Bradfield continues to impress us with everything he shares his vast command of impeccable taste with anything that resides in his interiors, and it's clear that the combination of both his vision and his ability to see what is best for his specific client make his work incomparable.   If you want to live in your own private museum, Geoffrey is the person to work with yet he is down-to-earth enough to properly design stations for homework.  He does boats too, or should we say yachts.

We admire that Geoffrey never lowers his standards and his unique ability.  No one else would come up with a name like Wild Mink and execute it quite the same way.   We love his vocabulary and style and it goes without saying that he knows how to achieve the ideal balance.  He knows that less is more and we see the continuation of white predominantly married with a single color which is always stunning.  Every last detail is attended to from the woodwork to the doorways with the end result of it being just right: just interesting enough without being overdone.  In particular we like the white with light blue in the Sherry Netherland pages and mirrored paneling on the diagonal  (p. 168-9).  Welcome to the land of white peacocks created with Swarovski crystals by hand. Nearly 19,000 of them.

As he says here in these pages, Geoffrey knows that the future lies in the past but understands you need to move past it to be successful. (p.70)

Bradfield keeps well ahead of momentum identifying emerging talents early, and this ability reminds us of a favorite Wayne Gretzky quote.  Yes, Geoffrey knows where the puck is headed even when it's not actually a puck that's the topic (and yes we noticed on page 82-3 that hockey was on the tv.  We don't know if that was a coincidence or not but certainly we would have done it on purpose.)  The visuals contained in this book are truly phenomenal.

The page cutouts are powerful showing the reader how to visualize in a new light so to speak (possibly a good thing that Peachy wore a dress with cutouts to the book party though that was coincidental).  Another note-this book is bilingual-also in Chinese.  Do not miss the shoes on pages 106-7...the skyline picture on page 98 is incredible.

It's been said that Geoffrey Bradfield is the interior designer for billionaires.  That may be true, however, we believe he is the interior designer that is most committed to doing the best work-with his signature- to the best of his ability surrounded by bright associates with like-minded philosophies achieving the goals of his clientele best.  You can employ the noun art, you can call this design, but you can't call it the best without Geoffrey's touch.  In our great world of capitalism and supply and demand, we surmise billionaire clients are precisely the result of this commitment to excellence.

We reviewed Ex-Arte two years ago:

We reviewed a 21st Century Palace last year:

Stay tuned for the hit parade here on his palace books to come.  We can't wait!

Bravo once again Geoffrey.
