The Giving Back Foundation November 2013 Update

First, we are delighted to tell you that the first Inaugural Gala of the Giving Back Foundation will take place in New York City at the Pierre Hotel on March 19, 2014. The event is listed on our Website at www.TheGivingBackFoundation.net, and we will be updating you in a separate communication with all of the details very shortly!

This is the last newsletter of 2013.

We want to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and a wonderful Holiday season as we give thanks for all of you who are involved in the journey of Giving Back. God Bless you all from Meera Gandhi and The entire Giving Back Foundation Team!

The Foundation is thankful for the continued support of our partners and affiliates. An update of The Foundation’s global humanitarian efforts during the past few weeks:

November 8, 2013: NEW DELHI and LONDON: SKYPE EXCHANGE Between GBF Affiliate Schools in London and New Delhi

The Giving Back Foundation coordinated and sponsored the first International Skype Exchange between two of our partner schools for youngsters, St. Michael's in New Delhi and St. George's in London. The first Skype meeting was held between students at the two schools to promote international cultural understanding at the grammar school level, and to offer an interesting exchange to the young pupils on the merits of philanthropy and "Giving Back." The children even sang a song to each other over Skype, in Hindi and in English. One of the children from St Michael's India said "We can’t wait for next week to Skype again, this was so interesting and fun." Special thanks to: Rev Timothy Shaw, Sunita Rana, Erin Medjoubi and Alan Berry for making this happen.

October 25th 2013: PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY: HOPE 2013

The Giving Back Foundation's CEO and Founder Meera Gandhi delivered the keynote speech at Hope 2013, a philanthropic event in Princeton, New Jersey on October 25, 2013. Kabir Gandhi also accompanied his mum to the evening. Two extraordinary teenagers, Rachel and Matthew Asir, hosted a special fundraising dinner for over 250 guests that included sitar music and dance performances by Matthew and Rachel, to raise "funds for justice" for young immigrants in the United States. The funds are used to secure legal help for very young people, who, through no fault of their own, are often without any legal representation.

Again, The Giving back Foundation and Meera Gandhi wish to thank and congratulate Mrs. Cherie Blair and her foundation for an excellent women's event—bringing together women from all over the world in the English countryside to discuss global issues over tea. The evening concluded with a cookery demonstration where Mrs. Blair did mention that she herself enjoyed preparing meals for her family whenever she could.

Bravo, to dear Cherie from all of us at the Giving Back Foundation.
