The exclusive media preview on Monday, December 2nd beginning at10:00 a.m. gives media the opportunity to experience all of the memorabilia before it goes to the highest bidder over the upcoming weekend.

Banksy pieces being offered after an uproar in New York include the rare sale of an original mural titled “Flower Girl,” which formerly occupied a Los Angeles gas station, along with four more Banksy originals. These additional four include “Happy Choppers” (2002), “TV Girl” (2003/04), “Umbrella Rat” (2003/04), and “Black Bobby” (2003). The 9’ x 8’ “Flower Girl” will be making a grand appearance at the Beverly Hills gallery of Julien’s Auctions and will be featured in an exclusive setting.

Banksy is one of the world’s most provocative artists. TIME Magazine selected the British graffiti master, painter and activist as one of the world’s most influential people in 2010, among people such as Steve Jobs, Barack Obama, Lady Gaga and others. Although his art commands hundreds of thousands of dollars, his identity remains concealed. His world-famous street art can be found on facades from Great Britain to Israel’s West Bank to the streets of Los Angeles. The majority of works by this controversial artist reflect his criticism of the government, presenting strong themes concerning surveillance and the government’s role in modern society.

The Icons and Idols: Rock ‘n Roll Collection marks a rare opportunity to own music history like never before. Jerry Garcia’s Travis Bean TB500 electric guitar along with psychedelic original art from Rick Griffin, Stanley Mouse and others highlight the sale. From the Beatles’ “Hard Day’s Night” prop to Elvis Presley’s blue suede shoes, fans of Rock ‘n Roll have hundreds of items to choose from in this massive sale. Some of the highlights include Jimi Hendrix’s stage worn vest, Bob Dylan’s handwritten lyrics, Prince’s stage worn outfits, Jimmy Page’s owned and played electric guitar, the guitar from the film “This is Spinal Tap,” Whitney Houston’s and Beyonce’s gowns and clothing, U2’s Billboard Award, Andy Warhol’s jeans and even a bit of Liberace flair with items from his home. To view the full catalog of the hundreds of items being offered, go to www.juliensauctions.com. Any media wishing to cover this vast collection will have access to the memorabilia.

Before The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug, there was The Trilogy Collection, the largest private collection known to exist of unprecedented memorabilia from the Lord of the Rings to be auctioned. The memorabilia exhibit of The Trilogy Collection: Props & Costumes from Middle Earth includes exclusive props and costumes created for the production of the trilogy of blockbuster films directed by Peter Jackson and based on the J.R.R. Tolkien best-selling fantasy novel, The Lord of the Rings. The media preview was coincidentally scheduled around the same time as the premiere of the next blockbuster film directed by the Oscar winner. Fans and media can have the chance to view Frodo’s Sword Sting or Hobbit prosthetic feet and ears, and a vast collection of other items. Media also have the opportunity to remote live from the collection, and produce segments and stand-ups in the middle of the massive exhibit and tie-in interviews from on-site.
