Fresh Origins December 2013 What’s New on the Farm! Micro Hibiscus & MicroFlowers™ Lavender Are Sure to Put More Holiday in Your Season!
Introducing the latest and greatest from our friends at Fresh Origins!
Here's how to put the Merry in your Christmas:
Micro Hibiscus
What's more exciting than a fabulous new Hibiscus Microgreen! This attractive, wide-heart shaped green has leaves with a mildly tart, citrus taste. Juicy & refreshing, this adds a lemony essence to all kinds of dishes, from seafood to desserts. Pair with seared scallops & rare ahi. Add to a sashimi plate or citrus salad. Accompany sorbet & mousse for an exciting flavor addition. Since Hibiscus flavors have become popular in mixology, this delicious Microgreen can be an innovative ingredient & garnish for a cocktail as well.
MicroFlowers™ Lavender
These lovely lavender sprigs are a miniature version of traditional lavender flowers, but boast the same intense flavor & fragrance! They are about 4” in length with tiny purple flowers attached to thin stems. A wonderful, decorative addition to all sorts of desserts.
Use as an ingredient in cookies, ice cream, panna cotta, truffles, & cupcakes. Add a fresh herbal taste to savory dishes of poultry & lamb. Create a drink with a sweet & relaxing aroma. Pairs well with fruits such as lemon, berries & apples.
