We have never seen a documentary as highly entertaining, honest, hilarious and so quintessentially New York! Taxicab confessions by HBO Documentaries will simply knock your socks off. It's alive. It's vibrant. And the joke is on the people that are the ones with the stories-they have no idea they are on camera! However, the smart legal team at HBO of course told them afterwards and they agreed. This was genius as the stories are so much more authentic this way.
Many people say New York inhabitants (not to be confused with New Yorker-Peachy is from Connecticut and not a New Yorker) are not that friendly or forthcoming-this shows you that that's just not true. It's totally unedited and you'll be let into the deep dark secrets of taxi guests. It's quite provocative to say the least.
You'll meet a couple on their honeymoon, the guy that's the model and face of Hugo Boss who just loves the word "chill" and you'll see that everyone does have a story. One taxi driver ends up in a Dr. Ruth-like situation with two girls in the back with some interesting stories...interludes between stories are quite funny as well.
Seriously-what people won't say! Even a bit of the underworld emerges but in some of the dark stories, through it all in this documentary you will see how people show a stranger like a taxi driver their feelings and hearts. It goes from hilarious to serious when we meet
a fire chief who worked on 9/11. Not only is this funny, but also it's
eye-opening.
Taxicab Confessions by HBO is absolutely entertaining and we highly recommend it. Note that this aired in the past but was so good we had to include it!

Taxicabs have long been a safe haven for riders to confess their most shocking experiences. Now, the outrageous, all-new special TAXICAB CONFESSIONS: THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS reveals more surprising encounters with actual Big Apple taxicab passengers.
The 14th edition of HBO’s Emmy®-winning hit documentary series from producers Joe and Harry Gantz spotlights the nighttime adventures of a diverse assortment of New York City characters, covering subjects ranging from the unusual to the very unusual.
Over the course of several months on the streets of New York, a well-equipped cab outfitted with hidden lipstick cameras and microphones captured the unrehearsed conversations of TAXICAB CONFESSIONS: THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS. None of the passengers were aware their conversations were being taped until the ride was over, at which time they granted consent. As always, their conversations are genuine, relaxed and totally candid.
