If you can imagine it - it being a venue de cuisine of Manhattan - Peachy Deegan has probably eaten there! Whether she liked it or not, you'll only know if it shows up in Peachy's Picks (where the best from Terrific Takeout graduate to). And as you know, if we have nothing nice to say we say nothing at all. As we kick off a New Year, we are thinking outside the box in terms of where we find great food and one spot you may not think of for takeout that you should think of is Session 73. Of course, many people go there for music reasons. We had a great experience there starting with the mixed green salad, which was so fresh and in a generous portion. You know we all should be practicing angelic New Year's Resolutions, so this was a good start with the mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and onions.
Of course we like steak, but we don't often think of it on a kabab. Under Off the Grill you'll see that Session 73 offers a lean cut of ribeye having a party on a stick with secret bbq sauce, red peppers and onions. Spiked into a grilled pineapple, this was a creative presentation for a spot that is traditionally known to be about audible and not edible endeavors.
When we hear South of the Border of course we think of Pedro between North and South Carolina, however on the menu titled as such at Session 73 you will not want to miss the Chicken Quesadillas! This is an item that frequents menu listings of all kinds of restaurants and bars, however, it is not as fantastically executed as it is at Session 73 everywhere. Grilled to perfection, the chicken was succulent and the sour cream delicious with the cheese and vegetables! Eating this is music to your tastebuds!
Session 73 is Terrific Takeout!
