The crazy Northeast weather is upon us: Arctic Vortex, Sleet, Rain, Fog, take your pick and we've got it here!  If you don't like one day hold on tight because it's sure to change says our pal Mover and Shaker Lonnie Quinn on our favorite channel in New York, CBS Channel 2.  (Also, Lonnie is an esteemed BC grad. Hope you all saw that lovely handoff at the Golden Globes from Chris O'Donnell to Amy Poehler-Eagles on the Warpath Oooh Aaah.)  From Boston to Washington including Manhattan, Peachy Deegan has always lived in the Northeast when she's lived in America.  (She's also lived in Ireland and the UK.)  In this uncertain weather, what is certain is your dinner-that is if you go to the right place.  We have had many dinner experiences (somewhere between 250 and 300 on the east coast now) however there are few venues that we highlight as much as we have highlighted our favorites and Le Pescadeux ranks among them because of their excellent poisson (that's fish to you non-French Canadians) and unique culinary endeavors that measure up every time, evidencing their consistency.  Above is the Pasta Hackett: Squid Ink Linguini, Jumbo Shrimp, Clams, Mussels, and Lobster having a party in Tarragon Cream Sauce.  Just divine, and this was Peachy's dinner.  Though Le Pescadeux has music some nights other nights they have quiet, which is what we prefer when we are eating.   Peachy is rather a big fan of quiet (see tiny New York Notes column) and is known to walk out of a store if the music is not to her liking, but when she likes a musician she really likes them.  (Get excited to hear more from our favorite new music star, Ashley Tucker soon on Whom You Know.  Chuck if she is good enough for the Boston Bruins maybe she is good enough for Le Pescadeux?)  It is a definite plus that Mover and Shaker Chuck Perley is well-versed in hockey as that is a major dinner topic for us.  And, anyone who's anyone in hockey does eat at Le Pescadeux since it is the premiere French Canadian culinary heaven.
Le Pescadeux is known for its fish duets and above you see the Braised Octopus with Watercress, Saffron Aioli and the Grouper combination.  If you like to have your cake and eat it too this is the idea!
Another succulent convincing choice is the Picante Rock Shrimp Risotto with Hat of Slice Rare Tuna Loin and Basil Infused Olive Oil Drizzle.
Do not miss the desserts or you will be promptly sent to the penalty box.  Chocolate cake above, and below is Syllabub, which is what Peachy always orders as the idea of champagne gelee is best to her.  And the taste, even better!

Le Pescadeux is the only restaurant in New York City that focuses on the French-Canadian culinary migration experience, from the Maritimes through Quebec and down to Louisiana, and not only does it boast one of the finest cuisines in Manhattan but also one of the best restaurateurs as well. Ooooh la la Executive Chef and Owner Chuck Perley can act, dance, sing and BOY CAN HE COOK! This talented guy of the great white way will successfully make his way into your stomach and heart the minute you meet him and visit a new shining star of Peachy's Picks: Le Pescadeux, a treasure of New York. Chuck has proven he is a total peach in both culinary talent and incomparable personality, and also note he has the energy of about a dozen other New York Chefs packed into one: him (inspired and genetically assisted by his mother who is the same.) We love it when we meet multi-talented people and it is also nice to know he is the first actor to EVER speak in a music video in 1985 in a Bon Jovi spot: "In and Out of Love". Covering every cuisine from Montreal to New Orleans, at Le Pescadeux you may feast on a terrific assortment of succulently fresh oysters, Quebec clam chowder, Cajun/Smoked meat Poutine, sauteed Prince Edward Island mussels, and Bouillabaisse Quebecoise, the best anywhere! Le Pescadeux offers a stellar selection of wines and cocktails and the decor is gorgeous featuring a painting by Maggie Mailer (daughter of Norman) and a lovely chandelier. Do not miss the Syllabub for dessert! Tell Chuck that Peachy sent you...he’s a Mover and Shaker:
