An extraordinary exhibit on loan from the Gallerie dell'Accademia, Venice, and the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, Urbino, is now showing at The Met, our favorite museum, until March 30th and the extraordinary detail you'll find astounding! It's the first time these four works have been brought together ever (especially notable when you consider their age), and everyone who has an appreciation for fine art or anything Italian will want to make this short but sweet exhibit a priority in their Manhattan schedule!
(For more love from Italy, check out our Italian wine event from last week with the Italian Trade Commission, including Mover and Shaker Alessandra Rotondi.)
This exhibit was first featured on Whom You Know:
Piero della Francesca (1412-1492) was a major figure during the Renaissance and the brilliant enduring quality of precision (he was also a mathematician) and beauty will delight those with a discerning eye. His excellence in perspective is simply extraordinary. We found the restoration before and after pictures particularly impressive, and The Met has proved once again why they are the best. Also, check out the Wine cooler on the back of one painting...!
