Bedside Healers is the brainchild of Fraser High School teacher Jason Peach. Really, that's his name we didn't base this on his last name alone. Clearly, he's got a PEACHY idea. These stuffed animals come equipped with an innovative design that allows patients to attach them to bed rails, IV posts, walkers, etc. They include the Heart Nosed Puppy, The Golden Lab and the Black Bear. They also offer Bedside Healers for newborns. They come with a shirt that has the saying, “It’s a Boy” or “It’s a Girl” on the front.
Peach opened his business a mere 17 months ago, and has already donated more than 1500 bears to hospitals in the USA. His success earned him the Ferndale Area Chamber of Commerce’s New Business of the Year 2012. Peach hopes to double the number of donations in 2014 and has other goals for the company as well. “Right now, people can go online and order our bears to be sent anywhere across the country. In July, patients will also be able to share their experiences. We hope that this new format will become a resource for people to share stories of hope and inspiration,” said Peach.
