Alex Milligan
David Milligan Selections (“DMS”), a leading importer of fine estate bottled wines based in New York, announced today the elevation of Alex Milligan to Co-Owner and Partner alongside his father, industry luminary David Milligan. “After years of working and traveling in tandem, Alex is now poised to take DMS to the next level. With the company’s 20th anniversary approaching next year, this is an exciting time for us.” said David Milligan, President. David Milligan has been featured as a Mover and Shaker on Whom You Know, and many of their wines have been highly recommended in Champagne Wishes.
Alex is leading the company’s efforts to accelerate growth in two areas; new business development and an expansion of its marketing program. In the last year alone, Alex was instrumental in adding Domaine Sarrail from Carcassonne to the company’s wine portfolio, overseeing the creation of the company’s brand position, “The Trusted Choice in Estate Wines” and the introduction of a company newsletter. The premiere DMS newsletter launched in March.
Alex has worked in the wine industry since 2004, first at the famous Sherry Lehmann where he developed a deep understanding of the wine industry. In 2006, he joined DMS, where his primary focus is sales.
“My plan is to expand our footprint and the Estates we represent beyond our existing markets,” said Alex. “I am fortunate to work side-by-side with my father, one of the most experienced and respected French Wine experts in the United States. With his continued guidance, our expanded portfolio, and marketing efforts we are assured a future filled with opportunity. The quality of our portfolio is outstanding and we consistently offer the best value in our category.”
Alex recently traveled to France to work the 2012 harvest and deepen his knowledge of the winemaking experience. David Milligan added, “Traveling both domestically and abroad enables Alex to be on the lookout for new opportunities and develop fruitful relationships with producers and distributors, many of whom are of Alex’s generation.”
David continued, “Alex has a firm grasp on our business and is well equipped to continue to drive the growth of David Milligan Selections—The Trusted Choice in Estate Wines. Please join me in congratulating Alex on this well deserved recognition of his achievements.”
