READ THIS: ALEX CROSS, RUN by James Patterson Our Coverage Sponsored by Martin's Tavern of Georgetown Est. 1933

Established in 1933, Martin's Tavern is one of Washington DC’s most historic family-owned enterprises. For 80 years, Martin’s Tavern has been a renowned fixture in the mid-Atlantic and a must-visit establishment in historic Georgetown. In the late 1890's, William S. Martin traveled from Galway, Ireland to America. Forty years later, he and his son, William G. Martin, the current Billy's grandfather, opened Martin’s Tavern on the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and N Street NW which is run today by our friend, William A. Martin Jr. You can call him Billy! From sitting Presidents and media icons, to city residents and worldly travelers, Martin’s Tavern is a welcoming home to the many who have long embraced its warm atmosphere. Its quintessentially classic American fare has delighted discriminating palates for decades from the Oakwood Atlantic Smoked Salmon to the Filet Mignon to whatever your little heart desires from the convincing menu. Every President from Truman to George W. Bush has happily dined at Martin's Tavern, and you can see the delicious culinary choices preferred by each in our review: Martin's Tavern is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know:
The President’s favorite booths, The Proposal Booth of Jack and Jackie Kennedy, Mickey Mantle in The Dugout Room, George W. Bush and family at Table 12 are just a few of the iconic stories. Fourth generation owner Billy Martin, Jr. continues the tradition of Washington’s oldest family owned restaurant and Georgetown landmark.

Our hero, Alex Cross always has people after him. Is it his family life? His brilliance? There’s always a steamy brew with some evil wannabe genius cooking up something awful for Mr. Cross. As a detective, he’s beyond brilliant, and from what James Patterson has created, he’s a warm and loving family man. And yet, there are always people after him. In this twentieth novel of the Alex Cross series, Mr. Patterson gives us more bad per page than ever. Two “professionals” team up to wreak havoc and mayhem in a horrendous fashion. It’s almost a game of sorts, to see which one of the two mephistos will murder the most horridly. With that on his plate, our stalwart detective has no clue that he’s being stalked and vilified by a third party, completely outside of this murderous duo. A man who feels slighted by the detective from past history is on his trail, and leads the reader through his own dark world. Never a dull moment in a James Patterson novel, to be sure. Make sure to have plenty of time set aside to read through it, cover to cover. You’ll not be able to put it down. Grand Central Publishing has got another winner on their roster of rarified detective novels.

Poor Detective Alex Cross. He always seems to have a target on his back. In James Patterson’s latest book in the Alex Cross series called “Alex Cross, Run” the detective is on to his next high-profile case of one to possible three serial killers on the loose in Washington, D.C. This time, we follow the destructive career of Elijah Creem, a plastic Surgeon who is reckless and uncontrollable in his sex and drug escapades. Alex must determine if this doctor is connected to the brutal murder and mutilation of three woman. Each case has possessed Alex and his mind so totally and completely that he is unaware of what kind of danger he is really in. There is no better author out there that so cleverly writes about his main characters as real human beings with real lives that make the story have more depth and realism.  James Patterson always excels and never will you be able to put down his latest; I read this cover to cover as usual with this briliance. Alex Cross is a developed character that has so much to lose in his personal life you cannot help but root for him. Another unique thriller from the greatest thriller novelist of our time.

It takes a special kind of author to hold the Guinness world record for the most #1 New York Times Bestsellers, and James Patterson is just that. A true master of the the thriller genre, Mr. Patterson has a knack for drawing readers in from the get-go, and for keeping them eagerly flipping pages until they reach the end. One of his most well-known and well-loved series is the Alex Cross series, which centers around Detective Alex Cross and his family. Based in Washington, D.C., Cross works for the Metropolitan Police Department and, as a trained psychologist, specializes in profiling and tracking down major criminals. In Alex Cross, Run, Cross faces one of the biggest challenges of his career when he is pitted against the twisted but brilliant mind of plastic surgeon Elijah Creem. Creem, along with his longtime best friend and partner in crime, Josh Bergman, is busted by Cross and his crew in the midst of one of their wild parties involving underage models prancing around with no clothes, along with plenty of drugs. The incident causes Creem's wife and daughters to leave him, and Creem and Bregman turn to some desperate measures in their wild bid to avoid prison. Bodies begin turning up around the D.C. area, and fall into two distinct categories - tall, model-like blondes, and young, gay men. Both types of corpses are mutilated, but in different and distinct ways. The pressure is on to find the killer or killers before the body toll rises. However, what Cross doesn't realize is that while he is setting his sights on taking the killer(s) down, there is someone else with his sights on taking Cross, himself down - and he'll stop at nothing to accomplish his goal. Thrilling, chilling, and absolutely captivating from page one, Alex Cross, Run is another winner of a book from the masterful hand of James Patterson.
