We have been highly recommended by Whom You Know:
Maine Woolens, affordable luxury and tradition.
You know there are good things to come when even the garlic knots are divine.
But you should expect nothing less, especially at a venue that names themselves after beloved garlic!
Garlic New York Pizza bar is so much more than just pizza.   Every bite of the penne with vodka sauce was deliciously creamy and al dente.  Owned by Sasha Berg, Garlic New York Pizza Bar has been serving great comfort food since 2010 at 629 Second Avenue between 34th and 35th.
Another menu selection with pure wow factor is the sensational broccoli rabe sauteed with sausage.  The sausage is appropriately sliced in thin pieces and each of flavor is complementary to the other, making for a great combination.
For nutritional reasons we always order a green salad in the takeout review, and sometimes we even wind up loving it as well, like in this case.  Garlic's famous chicken cutlet salad is a winner from the flavorful slices of chicken to the juicy tomatoes to that commanding pepper that will awaken your taste buds.  This could be a meal in itself!  And they listened and put the dressing on the side which is how we always would like it.
Peachy's not allergic to any food, and is always willing to listen to restaurants when they have suggestions of what they think are best at.  Sometimes we even agree with them!  Sasha is right about the superb Garlic's Grandma Upside Down Pizza, above.  It's called upside down because it is, literally, for a pizza.
The fresh (and we do mean FRESH) mozzarella is on the bottom right at the crust.  Then the grandma sauce is on top.  You must try it because it's simply mouthwatering.
All of you tourists need to know that all New York Pizza is not the same, some is just superior.  All New York pizza is made using about the same water, however, that's where the similarities end.  This crust was crisp and substantial to hold what Peachy ordered on top, and if you are reading about the D'Artagnan bacon today you know the girl is not a vegetarian.  But eating vegetables is a good idea and we like them-the vegetable pizza at Garlic is called Vegetarian however we made it Carnivorian adding pepperoni to it.  You need to have a little devil with your angel nutritionally in our humble view.  Green Bell Peppers perfectly sliced, Onions also perfectly sliced, mushrooms, olives, GARLIC (we love garlic) and pepperoni graced the pizza of perfection.  We loved it.
Garlic New York Pizza Bar is even better than Terrific!
We can't wait to return.
