Lucas Samaras: Offerings from a Restless Soul:
Recently we were delighted to take a stroll through the one-room exhibit on the second floor in the back left of the Met (with Fifth Avenue behind you) and see these graphic masterpieces by an an interesting mind from Greece.

 Focal point and detail in lines create great depth of field and as you gaze at each piece of Samaras's work, you are intellectually engaged as well as delighted by his artistic abilities.  It's notable that this artist is multi-talented across mediums as well: he's a skilled draftsman, painter, sculptor, filmmaker, and, most recently, a creator of brilliantly colored, phantasmagoric photographs that he has manipulated digitally.

 Lucas was born in Greece in 1936, and immigrated to the United States studying at Rutgers and Columbia.  It's clear he has had an illustrious career, fulfilling many ambitions.  Above is a jewelry box that you can't miss that's located right in the center of the exhibit from May 1963.  
 The abstract geometric nature of his work with fine details will fascinate the viewer!  He goes beyond the surface of everything to the extent of having his own skull x-rayed in the 1960s.
