Celebrating Revolutionary New York by the New York Landmarks Conservancy
In order to help enjoy the architectural legacy that surrounds us in New York, each month the Landmarks Conservancy highlights a building style, function, or period.
So, in July, as we celebrate our country’s 238th birthday, we’ll highlight New York’s revolutionary landmarks and their significant role in the War of Independence.
Federal Hall … Fraunces Tavern … Fort Washington … Old Stone House … City Hall Park ...Fort Greene … Morris-Jumel Mansion ... Trinity Church … St. Paul's Chapel … Bowling Green Park … and Green-Wood Cemetery to name just a few.
View our Facebook album and learn more about these monuments, museums and other landmarks.
Through our Tourist In Your Own Town video series and Mystery Landmark competition, we’ll explore some fascinating sites that played a role in the founding of our nation.
We’ve also created a Facebook album with some historic photographs from our archives.Send us photographs of your favorite revolutionary site and we will post them too!
Happy Birthday America!
