One of the best temporary exhibits happening now until August 3rd at The Metropolitan Museum of Art is Goya and the Altamira Family, first featured on Whom You Know here:
This is an exciting reunification of four Goya works that were commissioned by the Count of Altamira, plus one work by one of Goya's associates.
This is the count! It was the first one commissioned. The masterful paintings will wow you with their brilliant color and obvious Goya talent illuminated. We liked the ones of the children the most.
The children are shown with their pets, and the adults are shown in the context of their occupation. The brief and beautiful exhibit of this family can be found in Gallery 624 on the second floor just to the right and back a few galleries once you reach the top of the stairs. Go see it!
