SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Aug. 20, 2014) — The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards® telecast has won an Emmy® Award in the category of Outstanding Sound Mixing For A Variety Series Or Special, and "The Beatles: The Night That Changed America — A GRAMMY® Salute" received an Emmy for Outstanding Music Direction, recognizing three-time GRAMMY winner Don Was. Winners were announced during the 2014 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. Emmys in 26 other categories will be presented on the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will take place at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Monday, Aug. 25, and will be broadcast on NBC.
"The Beatles: The Night That Changed America — A GRAMMY Salute" received six Emmy Award nominations, and the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast garnered two in recognition of outstanding production excellence. Four of the Beatles Special's six nods were announced this pastSaturday, and the following two nominated categories will be announced duringMonday's primetime telecast:

The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast was produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures for The Recording Academy. Ken Ehrlich was executive producer and Louis J. Horvitz was the director. David Wild and Ken Ehrlich were the writers. "The Beatles: The Night That Changed America — A GRAMMY Salute" was produced by AEG Ehrlich Ventures, LLC. Ken Ehrlich was the executive producer, Rac Clark was co-executive producer, Gregg Gelfand was director, and David Wild and Ken Ehrlich were the writers.
The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards broadcast attracted more than 30 million viewers — the second-largest audience for the awards broadcast in more than 20 years — and the show was at that time the most social event of the 2013 – 2014 television season. "The Beatles: The Night That Changed America — A GRAMMY Salute" was seen by nearly 20 million viewers, and the special received an unprecedented encore broadcast three days following its initial airing.
