You don't need us to tell you that James Patterson is on fire!

Of all of his characters, we might like Detective Michael Bennett the best...and if we were casting the movie, we'd pick Liam Neeson or maybe Pierce Brosnan to play him.  George Clooney is probably busy on his honeymoon...or eating something wonderful at Patsy's.  In addition to being Irish, Bennett lives and works in Manhattan...and he likes carbs.  He even says grace the same way we do on page 85. Could he be the most likable character ever?

"The four corners of my carb-jonesing Irish heart - real pizza, real bagels, real rolls, and especially real Italian bread - were a mere day away." (p. 8)
(excuse Peachy please while she eats a slice...)

You'll find Bennett totally relatable as well whether you also work for difficult people, feel like your life depends on it all, and have too many demands on your time.  But if you are crazed that is one more reason why you need to take a personal "time out" and read this to give yourself a break!

Complete with Hamiltonian references (p. 220) which we give two thumbs up to as well, James Patterson executes a thriller between two covers that will leave the world speechless. "Burn" is the latest in the string of collaborative efforts that allow us, the avid reading public, to have more of Mr. Patterson in a very creative way. In this winning combination with Michael Ledwidge, we have our hero, the winning Michael Bennett, returning to New York after his enforced witness protection stint on the West Coast.

Not one for slacking, Detective Bennett has two heavy hits dropped into his capable lap, and we are witness to a master tennis match. Back and forth, from sub-plot to sub-plot, Patterson/Ledwidge hook the audience and never let go until the not-so-predictable ending rears its head. The wit and casual banter that fill in the blanks of this affable detective's daily life remind us of a cop's everyday reality.

Home to the kids at night, whenever possible, or out at some watering hole, Michael Bennett brings New York City with him wherever he goes. Number 7 in a string of successful thrillers, Burn makes us all fall in love with this powerful character a little more.

Will they discover the final frontier of culinary experimentation?
Who will escape alive?
We won't tell you.
You'll just have to READ THIS.
Georgina Bloomberg, we bet you'll like the puppy's name!

Burn is Highly Recommended by Whom You Know, and we sit at the edge of our seat waiting for the next Patterson debut!

Detective Michael Bennett finally returns to New York City—and to the most unsettling, horrific case of his career.

At last, Detective Michael Bennett and his family are coming home to New York City. Thanks to Bennett, the ruthless crime lord whose vengeful mission forced the Bennett family into hiding has been brought down for good.

Back in the city that never sleeps, Bennett takes over a chaotic Outreach Squad in Harlem, where he receives an unusual call: a man claims to have seen a group of well-dressed men holding a bizarre party in a condemend building. With no clear crime or evidence, Bennett dismisses the report. But when a charred body is found in that very same building, he is forced to take the demented caller seriously—and is drawn into an underground criminal world of terrifying depravity.
