We are not vegetarians, and we are also not vegans at Whom You Know.  Maybe Peachy should change her name to Peachy Carnivore and she might if one more person thinks they hear Peachy Vegan when she always says Deegan.  You know, like the Major.  However, YOU might be a vegetarian or vegan, so this one's for you.  Just because we eat meat does not mean we eat it every day, and we are huge advocates of the proper poisson.
Orhan Yegen has some good choices at his newest spot, Francela, located in the loveliest part of town, the Upper East side.   Super healthy,  it is pronounced Fran-gel-a, named after a type of bread Chef Orhan tells us.  He came to America in 1977 and this is the 18th restaurant he has opened.  We like how he personally makes everything here and would not be content to delegate the kitchen talent, and would never sell out and let other people use his name.  He is the ONLY person that cooks the food and he works seventeen hours a day doing it!  Clearly he is good at his vocation, and we enjoyed his talents.
Francela is a market-style layout: you order the food ready-made and you could eat it there if you like but there is not table service.  These dishes should scream healthy to you. We tried the salmon which was fresh and seared perfectly.  The bed of rice was nicely flavored, and the green salad that we ordered surprisingly did not come separately from the entree.  In the salad the tomatoes and lettuce were well cut and were joined by cucumbers, onion and green pepper.  The refreshing mediterranean salad was lightly dressed. Sauteed spinach on the side added nutrition and color, and it was delicious.  Popeye, we believe you would be impressed.
