Lenovo Celebrates Military Appreciation with Donation to the USO

Lenovo proudly announced that it has expanded its partnership with the United Service Organizations (USO). During halftime of the Washington Redskins game at FedEx Field on Sunday, November 16, Lenovo will host representatives of USO, Inc., the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore, and the USO of North Carolina, as well as active-duty troops, in celebrating the USO and its mission to support troops and their families. As part of the ceremony, Lenovo and the USO will take to the field where Lenovo will present the USO with a donation of $50,000, adding to previous Lenovo technology investments at USO centers to help keep military families connected.

“Expanding our partnership with Lenovo is a great step for the USO and our locations in North Carolina and the Washington-Baltimore area,” said Christy Hartsell, USO vice president, Corporate Alliances. “This generous donation will be instrumental in helping the USO impact the military community in a positive way, while also reminding them how grateful we are for their service and sacrifices.”
Lenovo, the official computer sponsor of the NFL and the Washington Redskins, will also donate three Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro 2-in-1 devices for giveaways to members of Redskins Salute, the official military appreciation club of the Washington Redskins.

“We are thrilled to extend our partnership with the USO and our support of the nation’s Armed Forces with this donation,” said Tom Looney, vice president and general manager of Lenovo North America. “Partnering with the USO has enabled us to create media centers using Lenovo technology across North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. Lenovo is proud to show our support for our troops and those who sacrifice and protect us, day-in and day-out.”

In addition to the USO, Lenovo’s military support extends to other organizations including Operation: Coming Home, U.S. Veterans Corps, and U.S. Military Veterans Foundation. Learn more at www.lenovoconnection.com.
