We totally love Dolphin Tale, and it was the first movie we ever reviewed by Warner Brothers, thank you Mover and Shaker Kurt Yaeger, who acted in it. Like Clint Eastwood's Jersey Boys, not only did we review Dolphin Tale, but we reviewed it twice. We interviewed Screenwriter Mover and Shaker Noam Dromi and Prosthetics Expert Mover and Shaker Kevin Carroll also. One aspect of being in Manhattan we really miss is the ocean and a fantastic beach at our doorstep, which becomes possible in the great state of FLORIDA! We are of the opinion that Florida has the best beaches in America! Both Dolphin Tale movies are the best advertisement ever for Florida tourism because they are so well done, you want to book your trip and pack your bags. Winter and Hope, we would just die to meet you and swim with you.
Dolphin Tale 2 suffers from zero of the sophomore syndrome that lesser sequels are prone to. Why? It is a new true story with Hope, both kinds of it, and the original stellar cast returns. Everyone in this movie is a star, whether you consider veteran Morgan Freeman (so stellar also with Clint in Unforgiven!) or newcomers Nathan Gamble or Cozi Zuehlsdorff. We have always loved Harry Connick Jr. and Ashley Judd and the performance of each of these actors we mention is just as good as last time. Once Peachy met Harry in person at an event at Bloomingdale's awhile ago and he was a total peach: super friendly and genuinely nice. We were thrilled to see Bethany Hamilton join the cast as herself, and though we did not review it, we also love Soul Surfer.
What makes this story different? One animal is beached, one animal dies, and another is found. All kinds of life's issues come up and affect the story and the people tremendously. Since we are critics and do visit brands in person sometimes, we could feel the energy and dynamic of the visit from the USDA; however, we do not hand out violations, as you know if we don't like something we say nothing.
Most phenomenal is the underwater cinematography and choreography, which obviously took a lot of hard work, dedication and expertise. Watch this on your big screen!
A final note: Rufus the Pelican with all his personality steals the show at every twist and turn and we think he takes the cake for us: Rufus you are our favorite.

There's a big decision one character needs to make, and you will be cheering this person on to do the right thing and Carpe Diem! Hazel, you look good in purple.

SYNOPSIS
The inspiring true story of Winter isn’t over. Several years after receiving a prosthetic tail, Winter loses her surrogate mother, leaving her alone, grieving and unwilling to engage with anyone, even her best human friend, Sawyer. Worse, she may have to be moved from her home at the aquarium due to regulations requiring dolphins to be paired.
