At The Met right now, the natives are restless! Just kidding. The Chicago Blackhawks are not the only winning Indian-themed thing going on right now, and you only need to go as far as The Met to see their hugely popular and also well-populated exhibit of all things Plains Indians. Of course we think the Blackhawks are tough to beat, but you can visit during a non-game time. Think of everything that is Indian. Connecticut is originally an Indian name spelled with a Q. Did you know that? We didn't know so much about Indians in the west though, until we saw this exhibit. The Plains Indians are even further west than Chicago....
Certainly you are all shocked that this piece was Peachy's favorite. Patriotism! For a Horse of course, and we believe Mr. Ed was not born yet. Circa 1900- likely for the 4th of July in the Dakotas.
We first published on this exhibit here:
Montana to Minnesota, down to Texas is the territory covered by the Plains Indians. Of course, The Met, who exhibit everything with perfection, show you a detailed map in these rooms where you will want to explore and take a trip back in time to what we would surmise to be the wild, wild west.
The intricate details are impressive, so be sure to look up close to appreciate them fully.
