There are some places we go to once in awhile, but we try to go to Angelo's every season. We LOVE Angelo's. There's a reason why this popular venue has been thriving since 1902, and maybe there should be another neon turquoise sign saying Tina's,

because our friend Tina Aprea and her family have been running the mecca of delicious Italian since 1969, a very good year says Tina!  Tina is a brilliant, hardworking entrepreneur that is showing the world that anything boys can do, girls can do better.
Angelo's of Mulberry Street was most recently featured in an encore review in the fall of 2014:

Even their salad is beautiful.  We chose the Insalate Tre Colori, and it's coming up roses.  Look at the bottom right corner-it looks like a rose to us.  The freshness and simplicity of this edition of rugola, endive and radicchio was a true delight and we expect this salad to continue to be in demand as we head into the warmer months.  It's so refreshing and they were happy to put the dressing on the side for the picky eater of this publication.

From the first time we went to Angelo's before we knew Tina and Peachy was quietly reading a book at the bar waiting for her panelist, Peachy fell in love with an appetizer.  She witnessed another patron eating it after being enticed by the fragrant aroma of the amazingly killer meatballs of Angelo's, and so Peachy ordered them that day and every time since.  This time she ventured off the beaten path and we cannot overemphasize how wonderful the Mozzarella di Bufala Affumicata alla Griglia is when it interacts with your palate.  It is not the standard mozzarella at all.  It's Grilled Smoked Buffalo Mozzarella, which standalone is just sublime and happens to be from Di Palo, with sundried tomatoes and wild mushrooms.

The combination is sensational and if you think you don't like smoky either, believe us, you'll like this smoky.  It is not at all like smoky in general-its smoky sophistication.

We absolutely love the Fettuccine Alfredo at Angelo's and if we are on our deathbed someday, we will be asking for it.  We've had Fettuccine Alfredo at a lot of other places to compare, but it doesn't compare to Tina's.  For months Peachy has thought to herself at other places, even though theirs was good and we liked it, we LOVE Angelo's!  We told Tina this and she says it's all about the yolk.  Maybe she should make up new lyrics to it's all about the bass.  Meghan Trainor, want to help?
The new baby lop prefers it over carrots for sure!

For our entree, we chose the Halibut.
Angelo's is happy to give you choices as to how you'd like it prepared, and we chose white wine lemon caper sauce which was phenomenal.  The fish was fabulously fresh and moist, and the carrots and green beans were perfect companions.
As it is now warm in Manhattan, which it has been a very long wait for, you should know that Angelo's has outdoor seating!  So you can enjoy everything you see here and many more choices outside.

Angelo's is absolutely Terrific Takeout!
