The National Hockey League Alumni is hosting its annual National Hockey League Alumni (NHLA) Awards Gala Dinner presented by SCOTIABANK on September 21, 2015 at the Toronto Airport Marriott in Toronto. 

The NHLA is pleased to announce this year’s "Keith Magnuson Man of the Year" recipient – MARK MESSIER - who is a tremendous ambassador of the game on and off the ice. Past honorees include: Ted Lindsay, Jean Beliveau, Andy Bathgate, Al Arbour, Johnny Bower, Rod Gilbert, Bobby Hull, Gordie Howe, Guy Lafleur, Lanny McDonald, Brad Park, Pat Quinn and Bryan Trottier.

Also being honored, the "Keith McCreary 7th Man Award" to someone in the hockey family who has made incredible contributions to the game, but has not played in the NHL. This year the NHLA is pleased to honor GERRY SILLERS. He became Vancouver Canucks Alumni President in 1989, a post he continues to hold. Sillers also sat on the NHL Alumni Board of Directors for 14 years, until his tenure ended last year. 

The NHLA is also pleased to announce the “Ace Bailey Award of Courage” recipient - PETE TUCKER, an Ontario Provincial Police Officer and member of the “Golden Helmets” Precision Team, being honored for his heroism as a CISM Peer Support Team, helping fellow officers; and, for his adversity to overcome the life threatening health issues that he endured after a horrific accident that he has sadly lost one of his legs from the knee up.
