Kwadwo Poku Named to Major League Soccer Team of the Week for Week 24
New York City FC midfielder Kwadwo Poku has been named to the Major League Soccer Team of the Week for Week 24, the league announced.
It is the second such honor for Poku this season. The 23-year-old was named to the MLS Team of the Week in Week 21.
Poku had one goal and one assist in New York City FC's 3-1 win over D.C. United, the top team in the league and Eastern Conference. Poku notched his team-leading seventh assist by setting up Tommy McNamara's equalizer in the 51st minute and added his fourth goal in all competitions in the 88th to seal all three points for the home side.
New York City FC are now 4-0-0 in matches Poku is in the Starting XI, while averaging 3.0 goals per match.
McNamara was named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 24) bench.
