It's not who you know it's WHOM YOU KNOW.
We know Del Frisco's.
Here's our first review:
We had always worked with Del Frisco's in Manhattan until the talented team of Scott Gould and Chris Farber went to Washington, D.C. to open that location, and we visited it in 2014:
At this stage you should know Del Frisco's has earned huge points for consistency, in both cities, and we do plan on going to Boston sometime also.  We can't say that for any other national restaurant chain, and we don't work with any others still.  Their business model is counter to our philosophy of always, always working with the owner, however, they are the exception to the rule and the only one.
Why?
Their commitment to hospitality ensures that guests will have the same kind of experience they would have if they went to an independent venue, and this is a credit to Scott who oversees the Northeast.  He is just about the only person that cares as much as an owner in a management position we've seen, and he is the only one in current memory.  He also has a great team around him and still we think Del Frisco's sommeliers in Manhattan, Faith and Jessica, are by far the best we have ever, ever worked with.
We are not going to say the same thing about a place every time we go back because that would be boring, and being boring is a cardinal sin.
This time, we decided to think about what would Del Frisco's be like if you took away the steak?  That doesn't work well at every steak house we've visited.
It was a very hot day in Washington, and we wanted to eat something lighter...We began with Del's Salad: mixed baby greens, cherry tomatoes, avocado, carrots, and two strips of Hickory Smoked Bacon.  If you've read us before, you know who does not like salad dressing.  Peachy always wants it on the side.
Again, they are the exception to the rule.
Please meet the Goddess Dressing!!!
It is simply amazing: ranch with avocado.  It's a beautiful shade as well.  The salad was terrific and we are always surprised when we like someone's salad dressing.
If you are going to go for a sandwich, opt for the Chicken Avocado Sandwich which has phenomenal flavor and super fresh ingredients.  We believe less is more and this sandwich is interesting without being overcomplicated: crushed avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, lemon tarragon mayo and of course the fantastically fresh chicken are sandwiched inbetween some toasted Challah.  Just delicious.  This hits the spot if you are sitting at the bar watching a soccer game...they have great Samsung tv's and ambient, upbeat music.  We were super happy to chat sports with Scott Kroener also and of course especially soccer now; know that not all chefs in the world are as personable as him-a definitely plus for every restaurant.  This is the first time we met or worked with Scott K.  But if you are hungrier than a sandwich-seeker, you might say to yourself, Crab Fried Rice, where have you been all my life?

We absolutely loved the Seared Chilean Sea Bass, not only because it flys in fresh from the Falkland Islands via Foley's in Boston (family-owned for about 100 years we understand) and is seared to perfection, but also because what they pair it wish is equally phenomenal!  We have never had crab fried rice before and we hope to eat it many, many more times.  It's dancing in a lovely black bean garlic sauce that you will also adore: a terrific understated accent.  Reagan and Thatcher, usually the best of friends, as you know had a tiff about the Falkland Islands; they would absolutely agree on the excellence of this entree we believe.
So you see, Del Frisco's does go beyond the steak.  Also note Michael Moore did a great job and we were glad to meet Ann Thibert, GM and Chris Clark, sommelier.

The sides at Del Frisco's are not to be missed.
Fresh sauteed spinach with garlic, olive oil and lemon was exactly as it should be. And potatoes au gratin?  Sign us up for them every time we go to Del Frisco's please.

Though we did miss Chris Farber this time because our schedules did not match up (we are looking forward to the next scotch you discover), we were so happy to meet Scott, especially because we did not have the chance to meet him the last time.  He is a great personality and is one of the newest readers of MLS Peachy (Scott click here to read our first words from Andrea Pirlo...!)
Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse in Washington, D.C. continues to be Highly Recommended by Whom You Know.
